The job

A spoke-length ruler plus bearing/cotter sizing holes; it does not measure spoke tension or nipple flats.

Spoke length scale

0–310 mm /0–12.25 in

Identify which dimension is needed

Spoke length, spoke section and nipple flats are different dimensions. This gauge does not replace every sizing tool.

What this choice changes

Size the part before choosing the next tool

The SBC-1 is useful at the identification stage of a repair or wheel build. The oblong end opening locates the head of a J-bend or straight-pull spoke for reading its length against the ruler. This helps compare an actual spoke with a replacement specification without confusing length with spoke gauge or nipple-wrench size.

Its scales span 0–310 mm and 0–12.25inches. Separate holes identify the listed ball-bearing and crank-cotter sizes. These are physical sizing contacts on the same gauge, not tension-conversion apertures or a claim that every bicycle bearing is covered.

The anodized-aluminum ruler has embossed markings. Choose it for the listed length and size checks; a caliper, spoke-wrench sizing check and tension meter address different requirements. No spokes, loose bearings or cotter pins are supplied with the gauge.

Choose for your actual setup

Identify which dimension is needed

Spoke length, spoke section and nipple flats are different dimensions. This gauge does not replace every sizing tool.

Check the listed hole sizes

Use the actual bearing/cotter size list rather than a general all-bicycle-parts claim.

Fit checks & limits

  • No calibrated accuracy or every-spoke-head fit is established.
  • Spoke gauge must not be used as a substitute for measuring nipple flats.

Questions before you choose

Which measurement do I need to choose a spoke wrench?

Check the actual nipple flats or other drive profile separately. The SBC-1’s spoke-length reading does not identify that receiving interface.

Does it measure tension?

No. It sizes parts. A tension meter performs a different measurement.

Will it identify every bicycle bearing?

The gauge has the listed ball-bearing holes; no coverage of every bearing type or size is established.
