Two pins for matching holes
Both the holes and their separation must match; neither describes ring outside diameter.
What this choice changes
The SPA-2 engages a pair of holes rather than ordinary wrench flats. Park Tool names applications on selected self-extracting or one-key crank retaining rings. The flexible arms adjust to the hole spacing, while the nominal 2.3 mm pin diameter must independently match the holes.
The stated spacing is 10–45 mm. That range is not the ring’s outside diameter and does not make every retaining ring compatible. The high-carbon tool-steel body has a vinyl-coated grip. The seller also describes adjusting cones on older freewheel clusters; that wording must not be extended to every freehub.
Choose it after identifying the actual pin-hole fitting and required service procedure. A cone wrench for flats, a bearing puller and a pin spanner receive different surfaces. No retaining ring, crank or freewheel is included with the red SPA-2.
