The job

An integrated handle and rotating tip for crank extraction through an M22 × 1.0 interface.

Extractor thread

M22 × 1.0, in the crank arm

Choose the spindle interface

M22 × 1.0 describes the extractor thread, not the crank-bolt thread. Check both the crank design and the maker’s puller requirement.

What this choice changes

A handled puller for matching square-taper crank arms

The CCP-22 separates a compatible crank arm from its bottom-bracket spindle. Its long integrated handle makes it a self-contained choice for the extraction step, whereas the compact CWP-7 needs a separate driving wrench. This is a useful distinction when equipping a home bench: the CCP-22 includes the leverage handle, but you still need the appropriate tool to remove the crank bolt and washer first.

Choose it for a crank with the required M22 × 1.0 extractor threads and a supported spindle interface. Park Tool names square-taper systems, SRAM PowerSpline and Bosch BNI cranks. Those examples do not make it a general puller for every splined crank; the maker directs ISIS Drive and Shimano Octalink users to a different puller or the correctly configured CWP-7.

Crank extraction and bottom-bracket removal are separate operations. Once the arm is removed, a cup or cartridge tool must match the bottom bracket itself. Identify both interfaces before buying a set of tools for a complete drivetrain service.

Choose for your actual setup

Choose the spindle interface

M22 × 1.0 describes the extractor thread, not the crank-bolt thread. Check both the crank design and the maker’s puller requirement.

Plan the complete job

A cup-removal tool does not pull the crank arm. Budget for the separate tools needed at each stage.

Fit checks & limits

  • Not the recommended CCP model for ISIS Drive or Octalink.
  • Nonstandard extractor threads, including some fitness-equipment cranks, are outside the stated fit.

Questions before you choose

Should I choose the CCP-22 or CWP-7?

Choose the CCP-22 for its built-in handle on the supported interfaces. The CWP-7 is compact and adds a second tip size for named splined systems, but needs a separate wrench.

Does this remove the bottom bracket too?

It removes the crank arm from the spindle. The bottom-bracket cup or cartridge then needs its own matching tool.

Will it work on every Bosch e-bike?

Park Tool names BNI cranks. That is an interface-specific example, not approval for every Bosch crank or motor generation.
