What this choice changes
A stand-mounted reference before the adjustment step
The DT-3 supplies a rotor reference while the wheel is held in a compatible truing stand. Its fine-threaded locking indicator helps provide a fixed reference for checking rotor deviation. It does not bend the rotor: a suitable truing fork is the separate adjustment tool.
Park Tool lists the TS-2/2.2/2.3 and TS-4/4.2/4.3 stand families for the mount. Check the actual stand version before buying the gauge alone. The plain DT-3 is also distinct from the separately offered DT-3i.2 dial-indicator accessory; numerical resolution from that different instrument must not be assumed here.
Choose it when you already have, or are buying, a listed stand and want its mechanical rotor-reference function. It is not a complete wheel stand, rotor, or dial-measuring kit. A wheel holder such as WH-1 serves workholding instead and does not by itself provide this stand interface or measuring reference.
