Older SunTour two-notch freewheels
Compare the actual two-notch interface with the tool. Do not substitute FR-3 merely because it is also sold for SunTour.
What this choice changes
The FR-2 is relevant when an older SunTour freewheel has the two-notch receiving fitting. The two projecting contacts are the starting point for the choice. A SunTour name on the bicycle does not establish that this is the right tool: the FR-3 addresses a different four-notch system.
Park Tool lists an approximate 25 mm outside contact and 10 mm central axle clearance. The heat-treated alloy-steel remover is driven through its one-inch base using an appropriate separate wrench, socket or vise arrangement. Check both the freewheel fitting and the actual axle access; the drive size is not the freewheel’s engagement dimension.

The remover supplies the contact with the freewheel. Your suitable driving and retaining arrangements are separate from the one-tool offer.
Identify the actual receiving pattern. FR-2 is the two-notch tool; FR-3 is the documented four-notch tool. The brand name by itself does not select between them.
No. It describes the external driving interface. The separate two-notch contact and axle clearance must also match the job.
