20 splines; 32 mm
Buy the driving wrench for the one-inch flats or 3/8-inch drive; do not use the 32 mm contact dimension as the wrench specification.
What this choice changes
The BBT-22 addresses the 20-spline cartridge bottom-bracket fitting, a different contact from the 16-notch tools used around external cups. Its hollow form clears the oversized ISIS Drive and Octalink spindles named by Park Tool. That clearance is useful during cup service, but does not turn the socket into a crank puller.
Keep the two kinds of size separate when planning your tools. The 32 mm dimension describes the component contact; the socket is driven through a 3/8-inch square drive or one-inch external flats. A suitable driving tool is separate. The flat tooth profile and spline engagement are the features to compare against the cartridge cup, rather than choosing from a brand name alone.
Choose it after confirming both the 20-spline pattern and the cup’s dimensions. If your service begins with removing a supported crank arm, a suitable extractor such as the correctly configured CWP-7 performs that earlier operation. The BBT-22 then handles the matching cartridge cup.

Buy the driving wrench for the one-inch flats or 3/8-inch drive; do not use the 32 mm contact dimension as the wrench specification.
Spline count and fitting diameter must both match. External-cup tools are not substitutes simply because the bicycle brand is the same.
They refer to different interfaces: 32 mm is the cartridge contact; one inch is the external driving flats. The square drive is 3/8 inch.
No. It clears the named spindle during cartridge-cup work. A compatible crank puller handles crank-arm extraction.
In supported configurations it helps retain the tool against the fitting during initial loosening or final tightening. It supplies neither this socket nor its driving wrench.
Separate the surface that touches the bicycle from the interface that accepts your wrench, then check access and any required retaining accessory.
