Retained inserts with round, hex and housing contacts
The AV-5 adds shaped workholding contacts to a separately owned bench vise. Magnets and vinyl-dipped retaining fingers locate the insert pair at the jaws. Compared with AV-1’s simpler two-round-contact assembly, AV-5 also provides a one-inch hex contact and smaller housing/hose contacts.
The listed round openings are 5, 9, 10, 12, 14, 20, 25, 30 and 36 mm. These are discrete contacts, not a continuously adjustable 5–36 mm range. The one-inch hex fitting is for the compatible remover tools named by Park Tool; it is not an included cassette socket.
The precision-extruded aluminum pair is 127 mm wide. Choose it by the workpiece shape and actual vise arrangement, especially if the same bench handles axles, spindles and tool flats. The vise and demonstrated parts are separate, and aluminum contact does not establish a guarantee against thread or finish damage.
