Disc-brake mount facing
Facing a mount is not the same job as rotor truing or pad-gap positioning.
What this choice changes
The DT-5.2 faces the bicycle’s brake-mount surfaces. This is a machining operation at the mount, different from measuring rotor deviation, bending a rotor or setting pad clearance. Choose it only after establishing that the actual frame or fork service requirements call for that operation.
Park Tool names front/rear IS, post and flat mounts, including low-clearance chainstay locations. The set includes four telescoping axle adapters, two facing cutters and a storage case. Match the actual mount and axle setup; broad interface coverage is not approval to machine every frame material or construction.
The maker recommends the separately sold 2197 diamond abrasive adapter for carbon-fiber brake mounts. That recommendation does not mean the adapter is supplied or that every carbon frame may be faced. DT-5UK is an upgrade for an older tool, not an extra included kit. Compare the exact stock contents and any required optional tooling before ordering.
