The C-738 displays displacement in millimetres, then uses the appropriate conversion table to obtain spoke tension in newtons. That distinction is central to choosing it: a digital number is not a direct force reading for every spoke. Match the material, dimensions and spoke section to an available conversion entry.
Its movable guide plate accommodates the plain versus stepped/flat spoke arrangements described in the manual. A simple checker is included for the stated reference-check procedure. If no spoke matches the conversion table, the manual allows relative comparison rather than an invented absolute tension value.
