12-spline cassette-lockring contact
Choose the separate-socket format when that suits your driving arrangement. The handled FR-5.2H offers the same working pattern with a different operating format and bore.
What this choice changes
The FR-5.2 suits a setup where you want the cassette-lockring contact as a separate socket and will provide the driving tool. It does not include the long operating handle of the FR-5.2H. Compare those formats around the tools you already own and the clearance you need, rather than treating them as different cassette standards.
The working fitting has twelve splines. The selected listing quotes 23.5 mm while the maker gives approximately 23.4 mm across the contact; that difference is not presented as a guaranteed fit tolerance. Park Tool specifies a 12 mm center-clearance bore and one-inch external flats. Match the exact component interface, not a nominal diameter alone.
The maker names supported cassette lockrings, certain internally splined disc lockrings and selected fork top caps. Those are specific applications, not universal coverage of every part in those families. During cassette removal the lockring driver and a suitable cassette counterhold remain separate roles.

Choose the separate-socket format when that suits your driving arrangement. The handled FR-5.2H offers the same working pattern with a different operating format and bore.
For cassette removal, compare a chain whip, spring-return cassette plier or locking counterhold independently. The socket does not restrain the cassette by itself.
Do not assume so. FR-1.3 is a different freewheel interface; matching spline count or a similar socket outline does not make the tools interchangeable.
It supplies an operating handle and the maker specifies a 20 mm bore rather than this socket’s 12 mm bore. Both still require the correct component fit and the appropriate counterhold for cassette removal.
Separate the surface that touches the bicycle from the interface that accepts your wrench, then check access and any required retaining accessory.
